Curriculum: Business Essentials With a Finance Focus
The MBA program is guided by Scranton’s Jesuit tradition and is housed in the Kania School of Management, one of an elite few schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
Coursework for the Finance specialization is split between an in-depth study of finance and a solid foundation of different business functional areas — perfect for an aspiring leader in finance business. The Finance specialization of Scranton’s MBA curriculum will prepare you to:
- Invest in financial markets using performance measurement techniques.
- Oversee the finances of a multinational enterprise (MNE), understanding the international monetary system and foreign markets.
- Make informed financial management decisions around capital budgeting, capital structure, mergers and bankruptcy.
- Develop an understanding of monetary and fiscal policy, and the interrelations of the national economic, social and political spheres.
- Manage portfolios using principles of a risk-return framework — optimization, duration, immunization and portfolio insurance.

To apply for Scranton’s Master of Business Administration program, you’ll need:
- Completed application
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities
- Professional résumé

- Statement of intent
- 3 letters of reference — at least 1 from a supervisor or other professional reference
