Studying online with The University of Scranton comes with a variety of benefits. Your technology support services include:

  • Weinberg Memorial Library: Tap into Scranton’s library to find 126 e-databases, 22,685 non-print items, 94,943 streaming media programs and much more. Take advantage of the live “Ask a Librarian” chat for any questions.
  • Free Microsoft Office Professional: You will receive free access to Microsoft’s essential suite of products, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Student Laptop Program: We’ve partnered with Dell and Apple to offer laptop computers to Scranton students at discounted prices.

System Requirements

If you’re reading this on your personal computer, it’s likely you already have what you need to learn online. We recommend using the latest software and OS:

Most Scranton courses require word processing software, and you’ll have free access to Microsoft Word, along with the rest of the Office suite. You can also use most other preferred word processing programs.

Some courses require video conferencing, which requires software such as Skype and a computer with a webcam. Most laptops come with webcams built-in.

What About My Phone or Tablet?

Although Engage, our online learning platform, is designed to be mobile-friendly, we recommend accessing your courses on a laptop for the best experience.
